Women’s Wellness Event

Many thanks to the Public Library of New London for allowing Coastal Connecticut Research to present a Women’s Wellness Forum on the changes experienced during menopause.  The purpose of the evening was to provide those in attendance with information on what is happening to their bodies during menopause and ways these symptoms can be addressed.  The program touched upon proper nutrition, mindfulness and clinical research for hot flashes and night sweats.  There was no “one size fits all” approach to what women need to do, rather, information was shared on how women can address a myriad of symptoms caused by hormonal and metabolic changes.  Presenters included Alison Dvora  k, MS, Certified Nutritionist and Registered Dietician, Lisa Bragaw, PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist, yoga and wellness instructor and Coastal Connecticut Research Medical Director Dr. Robert M. Spitz.  As Lisa Bragaw PharmD. reminded the group,  “you cannot serve from an empty vessel.  Self care is not selfish.”
