Sweating From Hot Flashes?

Monday, July 18th, 2016

They say “if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.” But, what if that kitchen is without an exit?  Two thirds of American women are reported to suffer from postmenopausal hot flashes.  If you no longer get your monthly menstrual period, and you are living with bothersome hot flashes, you may be interested in learning more about a clinical research study underway in New London testing a non-hormonal investigational medication for the treatment of hot flashes.  Women 40-65 may be eligible to participate in the research study.

It’s summer in Southeastern Connecticut and the weather has been hot and humid, which makes those living with hot flashes extremely uncomfortable.  Participation in The Hot Flash Study could lead to a new treatment for this condition and increased understanding of hot flashes in postmenopausal women.

Contact a member of the CCRstudies team at (860)443-4567 to see if you may qualify, or take the pre-screener online at http://www.thehotflashstudy.com. You are also welcome to email MaryLou@ccrstudies.com.  There is no cost to participate in the research study, no insurance needed.  Reimbursement of up to $525 is available for time and travel.  The study consists of 7 office visits over the course of 3 months.

Study visits will take place on Montauk Avenue in New London.  Dr. Robert Spitz and Dr. Craig McKnight are the local study gynecologists.

If you are a woman living with hot flashes, you are welcome to call (860)443-4567.
