Research In New London

Something we have heard on occasion is “I didn’t know they did research in New London!”  This phrase typically comes from an individual who meets a member of the CCRstudies team while attending one of the many community events we participate in.  Recently, CCRstudies had a booth at the Child & Family Agency CT Strong Job Fair held at New London High School.  To the delight of quite a few in attendance, we were able to share volunteer opportunities with people in regards to clinical trial participation.  Our next community event will occur on June 23rd at Chase Manor, 85 Norman Road in Norwich, as we conduct free memory screenings.

CCRstudies is a dedicated medical research facility specializing in health care clinical trials for women and men.  We are located at 342 Montauk Avenue in New London, above Montauk GYN.  Robert M. Spitz, MD, is the Founder and Medical Director of CCRstudies. Our medical team is comprised of board-certified physicians, APRN’s, RN’s, LPN’s, Clinical Research Coordinators and Qualified Dementia Care Specialists.

When we encounter someone who is not familiar with clinical research, we do our best to educate the individual in regards to what research trials entail. Typically, this involves explaining that during the course of a research study we will be evaluating an investigational medication for the treatment of a specific symptom or condition. In addition, there are trials that involve testing an investigational device, and some studies that do not involve medication, but are observational. We are also very clear that no research is conducted without the patient’s consent.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of clinical research studies here in New London.  If you are curious about what research entails, or would like to learn more about possibly volunteering, please contact a member of the CCRstudies team at (860)443-4567 or email
