Do You Pee Frequently?

Monday, May 7th, 2018

A lot of women shrug off the fact they urinate 8 or more times each day.  “I’ve had babies, my bladder is weak,”  “I’m getting older,” “coffee makes me pee,” are some of the phrases you might have heard a friend or even yourself utter.

Overactive Bladder, also known as OAB is a real medical condition.  Symptoms of OAB include a sudden and strong need to urinate right away (or, when you gotta go, you gotta go!).  People with OAB might also urinate 8 or more times each day, leak a little after having the sudden urge to urinate and wake up during the night to pee.

46 million adults in the US over the age of 40 experience these symptoms.

Coastal Connecticut Research is currently conducting an Overactive Bladder research study.  Those who wish to learn more are invited to contact a member of the CCRstudies team at (860) 443-4567.   There is no cost to participate in a clinical research study and no insurance is needed.

Overactive Bladder Study Coming in July

Thursday, June 26th, 2014

If you feel like your frequent and sudden urges to urinate are not the norm, you may be suffering from an overactive bladder.

According to the Mayo Clinic, you may have an overactive bladder if you:

  • Feel a sudden urge to urinate that’s difficult to control
  • Experience urge incontinence — the involuntary loss of urine immediately following an urgent need to urinate
  • Urinate frequently, usually eight or more times in 24 hours
  • Awaken two or more times in the night to urinate (nocturia)

CCRStudies in New London has just been awarded an overactive bladder clinical trial that will begin in July of 2014, led by Dr. Robert Spitz. Further information on the study will be posted on the CCRStudies website at Those who might be eligible to participate in the clinical trial can call CCRStudies at 860-443-4567.
